Hey, I got featured again on the great Tim Turbo Thursday podcast series which is limited to 50 editions. So here’s #49 – a mix somewhere between Soca Bass, Kuduro and House:
It’s only one left after this one. And I was like: why not having a last guestmix, to grow the excitement about the very very last TTT next week? And the only one who deserved to be the last special guest down here was Berlin’s Marflix One: Soca label owner, Urban Bass nerd, mine and Danny Scrilla’s DJ Godfather and the most trustful rum expert around. So today’s mix is all about new and old small island vibes, remixes made with a carnival mind and rum.
He wrote on his mix: “A podcast series full of niceness and inspiration is coming to an end. Next week will be the final blast… so it’s time to celebrate! As we getting ready we have a nice lime with some heavy carnival bass and bacchanal vibes. Percussive iron, bottle’n’spoon riddims from Trinidad and Indian Dhol drums clashing with the bass of Samba’s surdo drum. So Tim Turbo, whe de party at? I have some cool drinks for you ready!”

Bassmaster Poirier from Canada unveils a new mix to introduce you to the bacchanalian (sic!) soundscape of his brand new night: Karnival. The edit of “Like a jumbie” alone is worth listening to this mix.
The Montreal beatsmith, one of the most pioneering producer of Canada, turned his previous night Bounce Le Gros into a legendary party; expect the same for Karnival. The first edition will happen on Oct. 3rd in Montreal, as part of the Pop Montreal International festival, with Poirier’s guests: Paul Devro (Los Angeles – Mad Decent) and Dub Boy (Bristol – Ruffneck Diskotek). Just want to give you a quick update for your hungry ears and brains. Danny Scrilla just came home from his US tour alongside Tim Turbo while Hendrik was traveling from Berlin to Rotterdam carnival to New York Labour Day to represent the colors of Berlin bacchanalist movement.
Danny Scrilla sent his dubstep remix of Major Lazer to the official “Hold the line” remix contest. Go there and vote for that bass bomb and show some support!
Hendrik is at Coke DJ-Culture on JamFM this Friday 20-2200h CET. It is broadcasted nationwide in Germany, but there is also a livestream. Tune in!

A week ago MashUp Crew members Danny Scrilla and MarflixOne launched their new live-producing project Tropicality in Hamburg. Tropicality means live mixing all musical influences like Soca / Caribbean, Kuduro, Baile Funk, Dubstep, Gypsy etc to a new thing. Like Jazz it is 100% improvisation.
