About Marflix
Berlin-based DJ/producer Marflix searching for the perfect beat since the early 90s. Focused on Caribbean music flavored with Bass and Club. Current selection varies from Soca & Caribbean to African club music like Kuduro, Coupe Decaler, Funana to European club music.
Marflix also runs his own label Faluma which is specialized on Soca & Caribben music.

Biography
Fascinated by 80s Funk basslines and cheapass 90s Club piano sounds, Marflix – a brassist, keys and bass player of a local Jazz Big Band from the bottom of the Black Forest, started DJing in 1995. On the wheels of steel all good music which had deep basslines, driving snares and some brass: like Dancehall-Reggae, Soca, Funk and HipHop.
From 97 till 2001 he was rolling with Raoul aka Shogun as BeatCamp – a soundsystem style crew focused on dancehall, soca and remixes.
After a trip to Trinidad & Tobago he completely fell in love with the positive sound of the Caribbean Carnival – Soca, Calypso and Steel Pan. And di iron. And di parang. The mission was clear: in 2003 his label and store Faluma was founded to push the music in Europe and release music from islands which is worth to be listened worldwide.
In the same year the internet’s first weekly Soca/Caribbean/plus radio show/podcast Mashup Show Plus started and is running since then.
You can find Marflix travelling with a crate full of Soca, Club, Baile Funk and Zouk somewhere on the Autobahn or you might meet him at the coffee shop of your favourite airport. He might not come alone – teamed up with the infamous MashUp Crew or Tim Turbo.
Also DJ and tour manager for HipHop artists like Defari, Rasco, Souls of Mischief, Guru, Bahamadia and more..
